Senior Financial Reporting Manager
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for end-to-end financial reporting, month end close coordination, multi entity consolidation, IFRS-compliant financial statements, and management reporting. This role is for a current vacancy.
What will you do?
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

Lead and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for all affiliated companies.
Review working papers, reconciliations, journal entries, consolidation and reporting schedules.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial results across all legal entities.
Prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements, statutory filings, and Board level reporting packages.
Maintain close calendars, templates, and standardized reporting processes.
IFRS Technical Integration

Ensure proper application of IFRS standards.
Translate actuarial and IFRS 17 outputs (CSM, risk adjustment, actuarial valuations) into financial reporting.
Validate alignment between actuarial data, subledger outputs, and general ledger balances.
Prepare reporting inputs for IFRS disclosures and support Group reporting and audit requirements.
Management Reporting & Performance Insights

Prepare monthly management reporting dashboards including commentary focused on financial statement results.
Provide financial variance commentary related to accounting movements (e.g. timing differences, accruals, reclassifications).
Ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy of results across entity-level and consolidated reporting views.
Multi Entity Consolidations & Group Reporting

Prepare consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations, and multi-entity reconciliations.
Support group reporting requirements under IFRS and German GAAP (HGB) frameworks.
Ensure consistency in reporting across entities, products, and accounting frameworks.
Serve as the primary point of contact for Group Accounting at the parent company.
Audit, Compliance & Internal Countrols

Prepare audit working papers, documentation, supporting analyses, and responses to audit queries.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and strengthen financial governance processes.
Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors on reporting matters.
Cross Functional Coordination

Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, claims, operations, and IT to ensure accurate, complete, and business-aligned financial reporting.
Resolve discrepancies in operational and financial information.
Support cross-functional initiatives impacting data flows and reporting accuracy.
Process Improvement & Automation

Identify opportunities to streamline and automate reporting processes and templates.
Support system enhancements and data quality initiatives tied to reporting, including alignment across IFRS, HGB, and Canadian GAAP requirements.
About You:

CPA (or equivalent international accounting) designation required.
+7 years of experience in financial reporting in insurance-related finance roles.
Experience with IFRS 17 implementation and ongoing application required.
Deep expertise in IFRS standards, especially in IFRS 17 and IFRS 9.
Experience in multi-entity consolidation with German GAAP (HGB) is considered a strong asset.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with BI tools is required.
Proficiency in SAP is considered a strong asset.
Aptitude for figures, strong analytical and investigative skills.

Senior Actuarial Analyst
Reporting to the Vice President and Appointed Actuary, the Senior Actuarial Analyst will play a significant role in supporting the company’s actuarial reserving and financial reporting activities. The role is responsible for performing and enhancing reserving analyses contributing to regulatory and financial reporting processes and supporting actuarial governance within a growing P&C environment. 
Working closely with cross functional stakeholders, the successful candidate will help strengthen reserving processes, analytical capabilities, and actuarial tools while contributing to the ongoing development of the company’s actuarial function. This role is for a current vacancy.
What will you do?
Reserving & Financial Reporting

Contribute to the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual reserve estimates for insurance liabilities, including analysis, validation, and documentation of reserving results.
Perform reserving analyses using standard actuarial methods, including Chain Ladder, Bornhuetter‑Ferguson and loss ratio techniques, while assessing trends, assumptions, and emerging experience.
Support preparation of actuarial analyses and inputs for financial statements, management reporting, and regulatory filings, and internal governance processes.
Participate in reserve reviews and contribute to the analyses and communication of reserve movements, trends, and key drivers to stakeholders.
Support Financial Condition Testing (FCT) activities, including model inputs and result interpretation of results
Data Analysis & Modeling

Collect, clean, validate, analyse, and interpret claims, exposure and financial data used in reserving and actuarial analyses.
Maintain, enhance and document reserving and FCT models, tools and analytical workflows using Excel, R, Python, SQL, or actuarial technologies as appropriate.
Perform diagnostic reviews, trend analysis, sensitivity testing and data quality assessments to support reserve adequacy and actuarial insight generation.
Contribute to the improvement, automation, and standardisation of actuarial processes, data controls and reserving workflows to support operational scalability and governance.
Support the development of efficient and reliable actuarial reporting and analytical capabilities within a growing insurance environment.
Business Support & Collaboration

Work closely with claims, underwriting, finance, risk and other business stakeholders to understand operational and business drivers impacting reserve performance and actuarial analyses.
Prepare clear and well-structured actuarial reports, visualisations, and presentations to communicate reserving results, trends, assumptions, and key insights to internal stakeholders.
Contribute to actuarial investigations and ad hoc analyses, including portfolio reviews, assumption studies, reserve uncertainty assessments, and emerging experience analyses.
Support cross-functional discussions related to reserve performance, financial results, and actuarial considerations within the broader business and regulatory context.
Collaborate closely with actuarial teams at Head Office to review, understand, and critically assess reserving methodologies, assumptions, and analytical approaches, while contributing to the ongoing enhancement and adaptation of actuarial analyses within the Canadian business context.
Support the development of transparent and well-documented actuarial processes, methodologies, and data flows between the Canadian entity and Head Office, including contributions to the establishment of automated data exchange and reporting interfaces.
About You:

University degree in Accounting or Finance.
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance or a related quantitative field
Progress toward ACAS or FCAS designation
Minimum of three years of full-time actuarial experience within P&C insurance industry, including reserving and financial reporting exposure.
Strong understanding of P&C reserving principles, actuarial methodologies, and loss development concepts.
Familiarity with regulatory and financial reporting frameworks relevant to reserving, including OSFI requirements and IFRS 17 considerations where applicable.
Experience supporting actuarial reporting, governance, or regulatory processes within a P&C insurance environment.
Strong analytical and technical capabilities, including advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with tools such as R, Python, SQL or VBA.
Experience with actuarial process improvement, automation, or data integration initiatives is considered an asset.
Strong problem-solving, communication, time-management skills and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within a dynamic and evolving business environment.

Senior IFRS Accountant
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior IFRS Accountant is responsible for the technical application, interpretation, and ongoing compliance with IFRS 17, while also supporting other IFRS technical areas, and serves as a primary finance counterpart to actuarial, systems and audit teams. What will you do?
IFRS 17 Technical Accounting & Compliance

Own and maintain IFRS 17 accounting policies, interpretations, and position papers, ensuring alignment with evolving standards and regulatory guidance.
Apply IFRS 17 measurement models (e.g., GMM, PAA where applicable), including identification of contract boundaries, coverage units, and discounting methodologies.
Ensure accurate recognition and measurement of insurance revenue, insurance service expenses, and insurance finance income or expenses.
Monitor standard updates, interpretations, and industry practices related to IFRS 17 and assess impacts on financial reporting.
Contractual Service Margin (CSM) & Risk Adjustment

Work with actuarial team to validate inputs, assumptions, and outputs used in IFRS 17 accounting.

Perform the quarterly transition from IFRS to HGB using Group‑approved, tool‑based processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of results.
Work closely with Group Finance to identify, analyze, and explain differences between IFRS and HGB, including those arising from IFRS 17 measurement, assumptions, and presentation.
Prepare technical analysis and supporting explanations for Supervisory Board, Group, and audit requests related to IFRS vs. HGB differences.
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and audit readiness of IFRS 17 working papers.
Compliance & Governance

Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors on IFRS 17 matters.
Prepare technical memos, audit support, and responses to accounting and actuarial queries.
Design, document, and maintain internal controls over IFRS 17 calculations, data, and processes.

Process Improvement

Secondary Responsibilities

Contribute to the enhancement of the company’s IFRS accounting framework for insurance operations.
Support the establishment of accounting policies, technical interpretations, and documentation for new transactions and evolving IFRS requirements.
Assist in designing scalable accounting processes and controls for IFRS-based financial reporting.
Active technical accounting role and interpretation of other IFRS standards as required, including financial instruments, leases, tax, and presentation related standards.
Assist with complex accounting analyses of other IFRS standards (e.g., new transactions, policy assessments, or emerging IFRS issues).
Provide technical accounting support to the reporting team during monthly and quarterly close.
Work closely with investment, actuarial, and finance peers to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and alignment between IFRS 17 insurance contract accounting and IFRS 9 investment accounting.
Support the team as an effective team player and provide guidance/training to junior members of the team.

About You:

University degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA (or equivalent international accounting) designation required.
7+ years of experience in IFRS technical accounting, preferably within the insurance industry or with exposure to IFRS 17.
Experience with IFRS 17 implementation or ongoing application required.
Deep expertise in IFRS 17 and strong foundation in IFRS accounting principles.
