Product Manager

ARAG Legal Solutions Inc., (ARAG) part of the ARAG Group based in Germany, is the global leader in legal expense insurance operating in 19 countries.  ARAG offer’s an innovative and comprehensive range of legal expense products and services for brokers, underwriting agents, and insurers across Canada.

As part of our strategy to expand and strengthen our presence across Canada, we are looking for an energetic and creative person to join our Underwriting team.  

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Manager to join our dynamic team reporting into the Vice President of Underwriting. As a Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the development, enhancement, and management of our insurance product portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the insurance industry, ideally with a background in legal expenses insurance, a strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing insurance products from conception to launch.

What will you do?

  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality insurance products.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for product differentiation and improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Underwriting, Marketing, Legal, IT & Claims, to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Define and prioritize product features, enhancements, and modifications based on market trends, customer feedback, and regulatory changes.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and market trends to refine and optimize the product strategy over time.
  • Work closely with underwriting teams to assess and mitigate risks associated with insurance products.
  • Stay informed about regulatory and legislative changes affecting legal expenses insurance and ensure product compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of product requirements and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with sales teams, customer support, and other relevant departments to provide product training and support.
  • Plan and execute successful product launches, including the development of marketing materials and training programs.
  • Monitor product performance post-launch, analyze customer feedback, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven five years’ experience in insurance product management.
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance industry, including underwriting processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Project management skills with a track record of delivering products on time and within budget.
  • Proficient in organizing complex datasets and deriving pricing conclusions from them.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Teams and SharePoint would be an asset.

Licencing:

  • CIP designation preferred.
