Underwriting Assistant

ARAG Legal Solutions Inc., part of the ARAG Group, is a global leader in legal expense insurance operating in 19 countries offering an innovative and comprehensive range of legal expense products and services for brokers, underwriting agents and insurers across Canada.

Under the guidance of the Underwriting Services Team Lead, the Underwriting Assistant will provide technical and administrative support to the Underwriting Group.

What will you do?

  • Process program policy renewals and create quarterly performance summaries
  • Set up new standalone and program policies
  • Administer and coordinate program launches with internal and external partners
  • Update, amend and format policy wordings
  • Process bordereaux received from business partners
  • Process standalone policy renewals and issue documents to the business partner
  • Update weekly business quote report
  • General administration of standalone and program policies
  • Management of Broker and Program Administration Agreements
  • Answer queries from business partners
  • Liaise with our Finance and Claims teams and work with them to resolve payment and policyholder related queries
  • Other administrative tasks as required

About You: 

  • College/University degree.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in administration
  • Organized, detail oriented, pro-active and a team player
  • Pursuing CIP program is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook Teams and SharePoint would be an asset
